Result: a success. This intervention was a success as the pen was picked up before any suspicion over it not looking right. As an object, the lid fit really well on it and the pigment added to the silicone was the right consistency to mimic white plastic. The reaction from my peers was of surprise (from the person who picked it up initially) and joy from the others as the pen was passed around and inspected. After the initial period had passed, my tutor came across the second pen, and this one was met with frustration as the danger had been seen to have passed, but also surprise and I suspect an element of joy as most harmless surprises are met with.
